WHAT IS A MULTI-HYPHENATE?
Formerly known as a "triple threat" in theater — or, a person who can sing, dance, and act. Except "triple" doesn't even begin to describe most artists in New Orleans, who do all of that, plus juggle, paint, fire eat... the list of skills is endless. Hence, "MULTI-HYPHENATE."
SO WHAT'S THIS SHOW ABOUT?
“Multi-Hyphenate Mondays” is an innovative experience hosted by J.Mix (The Self-Aware Millennial) & Pat Smith ("Santa Don't Want Your Cookies")! Each LIVE show features a close-up on two locally known artists/creatives — but they'll be performing something you may NOT know they do! J.Mix & Pat follow up their acts with an interview about their creative legacies and desires for the future.
BUT WAIT... THERE'S A TWIST!
Each show ALSO premieres a collaboration between the two featured artists — each performing their preferred talent, together for the first time!
There are so many shows that allow artists to showcase a single skill set, so the mission of “Multi-Hyphenate Mondays” is to showcase more than meets the eye, while broadening our artistic community with an unexpected collab!
Shows are at 8 pm on select Mondays at The Allways Lounge & Cabaret in New Orleans, LA.
